The PADI and SDI Divemaster courses are the first step towards a professional diving career. The Divemaster course can be a step towards becoming an Instructor, or it can be simply an opportunity to deepen your understanding of dive theory, build your confidence in the water, and equip you to lead other divers.
The Divemaster course is the first step towards a career in diving. As a Divemaster, you are qualified to supervise other divers, assist Instructors during student training, and conduct certain courses on your own. You can either choose to work as a Divemaster, or progress to become an Instructor.
The course is comprehensive and challenging, and will leave you with strong in-water and rescue skills, excellent understanding of dive theory, and the ability to perform a wide range of tasks that will make you an asset to any dive centre or employer. As part of the course you will complete a mapping project, an emergency response plan, several theory modules, and a certain number of dive-related tasks.
There are minimum requirements for the number of dives you need to have completed before being certified as a Divemaster, as well as certain courses (at a minimum, Open Water, Advanced, Rescue, and EFR). Contact me for more information and to tailor a package that suits your needs.
