The female whale is trailed by her suitor

Southern right whale aggregation in False Bay

Spotted on our whale watching trip in False Bay with Simon’s Town Boat Company: a group of southern right whales, just north of Seal Island. Several males were competing gently for the attention of a single female, who was totally not into any of them. She eventually swam off, pursued by a lone male who did not get lucky, despite his persistence.
