Open Water Diver is the world’s most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. It qualifies you to dive anywhere in the world for the rest of your life, to 18 metres, without the assistance of an instructor.
The Open Water Diver course consists of the following sections:
- A theory component (online eLearning, home study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving. If you don’t choose eLearning, you will receive a manual with all the theory in it, including end of chapter quizzes for you to complete in order to check you understand the material. The theory is introduced by means of DVDs or online videos (if you choose eLearning)
- Confined water training dives to learn basic scuba skills: weather permitting, we may do this in the ocean so that you get as much “sea-time” as possible. This way you will be a far more confident diver at the end of the course.
- Four open water dives to review your skills and explore the ocean!
You’ll receive free dive medical cover from DAN (Divers’ Alert Network) for the duration of your Open Water course.
If you’ve tried diving through a Discover Scuba Diving experience with me, I will credit your fee towards the Open Water course fees.
